EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT TRUNK SHOWS.
We hope everyone is doing well and powering on through Lockdown 2.0. To brighten up your week and bring a bit of sparkle to the season, we’re back on the blog and it will come as no surprise that we’re talking about all things aisle style related. However, today we’re talking all about trunk shows and what you can expect from one at Jill Jones Bridal. From prepping to pricing, it’s time to get clued up…
If you’re wondering what a trunk show actually is – it’s quite simply an opportunity to see a designer’s entire collection in one place. Seeing a collection in its entirety is something that not often happens and it’s a gorgeous event that you don’t want to miss. It’s a chance to grab your best girls and get down the JJB studio and be surrounded by ALL the wedding prettiness. What’s not to love?!
Everyone has a designer they adore, and you may have found one you’re a fan of, but you just haven’t quite found the dress to match. When we choose which dresses to stock from our selection of designers (you can get an idea of our bridal designers here), we tend to choose an edit that we feel will be most popular amongst our brides. As a result, there are some ridiculously beautiful gowns that aren’t gracing the rails but still deserve to be loved. A trunk show is usually hosted over a weekend and very occasionally, the designer themselves will come along to talk brides through each gown for the full experience. They’re often limited to 1 to 2 per year and although it differs with each bridal studio, you can generally expect to see 10 - 20 gowns.
If the thought of a bridal trunk show has got you feeling weak at the knees, here’s how to get the most out of it;
· Keep up to date with a bridal studio’s events diary – as an exclusive event they tend to get booked up very quickly. Make sure you’re following us over on the ‘gram to keep in the loop with our latest trunk shows, plus we’ll spoil you with daily bridal inspo!
· Carefully check through the details of the trunk show, including how long it lasts for and how many guests you can bring along with you.
· Don’t worry, there’s no pressure to buy! We understand what a huge decision it is.
· We recommend doing your research beforehand so that when you come along, you have an idea of some gowns you may like to check out. This will help use the time for your appointment efficiently.
· Be on time; trunk shows get booked out and we like to keep running on time so that other bride’s experiences aren’t affected.
· Please note, trunk shows are subject to the same lead times and standard payment terms.
We hope you’ve got your head around bridal trunk shows! You’ll find plenty more bridal advice and inspo waiting for you on the blog here, but in the meantime head over to our designer page and fall in love with our dresses.
